First – GO TO THE DOCTOR!
You MUST have medical evidence to support your claim.
Next – TALK TO THE DOCTOR!
Yes, you actually need to TELL the doctor everything that is wrong with you. Your doctor is not a mind reader.
These kinds of details are important:
“My symptoms wake me up at night.”
“My feet swell if I don’t keep them elevated.”
“It’s hard for me to grip a pen or fasten a button when my joints are swollen.”
“I can’t sit in a regular chair for more than 10 minutes or the pain gets worse.”
Even if you have lived with these symptoms for years, it’s still important to tell your doctor so he or she can note them in your medical records. This is not the time to “tough it out” and keep quiet about your struggles.
Seriously. You need to do this. Tell your doctor.
