Every so often, Social Security adds new conditions to its Compassionate Allowances program. This program is designed to help some claimants get approved for disability benefits more quickly.
SSA recently added these 12 new conditions to the program:
- Angioimmunoblastic T-cell Lymphoma
- Blastic Plasmacytoid Dendritic Cell Neoplasm
- Gerstmann-Straussler-Scheinker Disease
- Microvillus Inclusion Disease – Child
- Mowat-Wilson Syndrome
- Myelodysplastic Syndrome with Excess Blasts
- NUT Carcinoma
- Pfeiffer Syndrome – Types II and III
- Pontocerebellar Hypoplasia
- Posterior Cortical Atrophy
- Renal Amyloidosis – AL Type
- Sarcomatoid Mesothelioma
If you have any of the conditions listed above, or any other conditions included in the Compassionate Allowances list, let your disability attorney know right away so they can alert Social Security.
